Campo Lisio

Producer of olive oil from a single grove,
along with chilli-infused oils and products, as part of a larger rewilding project at Capo di Leuca, Salento, Italy.

Philosophy

Nature

At Campo Lisio, organic farming without pesticides or herbicides promotes a rich and vibrant biodiversity, where Mediterranean scrubland, orchards, vegetable gardens and diverse crops coexist to sustainably grow the farm and its products.

Rewilding

Monoculture is the enemy of any farm wishing to create quality as it privileges mechanisation and low costs of production, removing diversity to make way for same. The trouble with this is that it’s a godsend for pests and diseases generally and forces farmers to use chemicals and dangerous substances for consumers on their trees and crops. Privileging bio diversity in a greater project of rewilding enables plants to fend for themselves developing their natural resistances and confusing pests with multiple essences rather than helping them by cultivating only one.

Agriculture

Our motto when starting our top oil, the contrada Campo Lisio was to pick every olive on every tree, not forgetting the suckers of the oldest trees or some of the wild varieties in the bush. Exceptional olive oil is made during early harvests (beginning October), hand picked and pressed rapidly at the best local olive presses. Contrada, Primofiore and Contrada chili extra virgin olive oils are the result of these choices and the proof is in the taste!

Extra natural olive oil

At Campo Lisio, our Contrada Campo Lisio grand cru olive oil is the result of exceptional biodiversity, ancient and regenerated olive trees, a fully manual harvest, and patient craftsmanship. This process yields balanced, expressive olive oils, enriched by organic pepper crops that embody the farm’s spirit of innovation and resilience.
